Which would you choose? Drapes: pattern vs. solid

We keep going back and forth on which drapes to choose for my Mom & Dad's living room.  Solid or pattern?  Solid seems more elegant and sophisticated, but pattern punches it up and make it a bit less formal.  Here are some choices...

Pattern:
